Nah, race swaps are gimmick marketing. And don't try and gaslight me and dehumanize me, calling me a racist and BS. I've been a marketing consultant for 20 years. I've been on the conference calls - I've heard these pitches. The rationale is simple. If they can't race swap the lead- then they find someone to race swap to not only broaden the demographic appeal - but to earn the favour of the media. Ever notice how every time the there is a change to a historically straight white character - the news media talks about and praises it? It's free advertising. If any of this stuff was about providing upward mobility and representation. Milestone comics would be on it's 3rd feature in it's cinematic universe. And if you don't know Milestone Comics. It's a universe of comic book characters - all black. And the entire creative team was black. Now that is representation.
