The choice to make Marathon will result in Bungie closing or being re-assigned. This is why Steam numbers matter, btw. Just like sales. Commercial AAA gaming is not for art projects and participation awards.

Why is everyone shocked at the Crimson Desert bashing from game journos? They did the same thing to Where Winds Meet & basically any game NOT from a Western Slop Studio that proves massive games can be made for cheaper & without the activism. They highlight their failures 💯

Another new Crimson Desert patch is out on PS5 and PC. TWO patches in one weekend! You won't see that kind of commitment out of these Western "AAA" companies, ill tell you that much.

My guy, you are constantly one of the most out of touch streamers on YouTube. Also, your unhealthy addiction to making one company, with a history of issues, your only source of content and enjoyment is a you problem. Also, youre not Aztecross, who's looking up Mactics to snipe? You dont like cheating in a pvp online game? From a company that hasn't gotten cheating under control in any of their games before? Maybe backing their PvP only extraction shooter isnt the play? Because, all of these games deal with this & Bungie has no incentive to stop it, same with Activision, Dice, etc. If any of these companies cared enough then this wouldn't be a prevalent issue in every game. The cheaters pay for the game too and they want that $ too. Crying about it now, like this is specific to this game, is just silly.

Marathon seriously needs a streamer mode Too many times we have killed 2 people on a team and then the 3rd runs and rats while they pull up the stream to see when we leave the bags to know when it is safe to come rez and then hunt us down knowing our position from stream

The game isnt "different". Its another trend hopping bandwagon low effort established IP genre swap into a niche that already struggles. Then you add the firings, mismanagement, 4 or 5 cases of art theft, screwing over of their ONE successful running IP. and a long list of other issues like not including prox chat due to "gamers" being the problem, etc, and it all adds up to being another bad business choice from a company that has long run out of goodwill & deserves nothing from any community it has left.

The Bungie release response is a cycle: Marathon fans complained about Halo. Halo fans complained about Destiny. Destiny fans complained about Marathon. People say they want new and fresh games. But the moment they get one, they hate it for being different

And your streets are still full of homeless while you cant account for any of the tax dollars being spent to help them. Also, your gas suppliers moved out of state due to your tax policies, gas statio s were forced to close of be fined daily and overall California is the definition of a "failed state" due, in large part, to your policies...I'd go on, but this is X and people can't read more than 120 characters due to failed public schools & lack of parenting.

Say what you will about Marathon's player count. I'm currently sitting in a meeting and all I can think of is...

Its a Mid tier game in a niche genre by a company that blames 5+ years of mismanagement on its players and now runs 2 IPs that are in the toilet overall. Its because people expect more respect for their time and money & anyone with self respect wouldn't be cool w/ a multi-billion dollar company continuing to push marketing spin & under delivery on them. This is the company that said making a pvp map pack for D2 would be "too expensive" & that Prox chat wasn't in Marathon due to toxicity. The company that Sony gave extra money to to avoid layoffs and still had 2 rounds. The company that vaulted paid content and stole art 4 or 5 times. Some people just have morals, values, and standards and call out mediocre BS because this whole "be cool with trash business practices" is why gaming is in the state its in. Microtransactions, yearly copypasta junk, and low effort cash grabs are all partially the fault of gamers constantly defending trash business practices until their normalized. Bungie doesn't deserve to be praised for making another bad business choice and mid-tier game which cost them their ONE successful IP.

The Marathon discourse has been pretty wild. I have never seen this many people vehemently hate a game of this quality. If the PR run leading up to release had been different, I don't know if the backlash would be anywhere near what it is.
