I say this fully aware of the irony: the dopamine this app sells you is mostly fake. faux engagement, manufactured outrage, parasocial debt. the people thriving aren’t on here that much.

To answer the DMs I’m getting; Capital One had Mastercard Debit cards since the formation of the bank, then when they acquired Discover Financial and the associated network moved from Mastercard Debit cards to Discover Debit cards, claiming wide acceptance, surprise they’re not.

For those asking this is at an ATM at LHR in London, one of the busiest airports in the world I’ve also gone to 20 ATMs in London and not one takes Discover, I had to PAYPAL someone for British Pounds so I had local currency, because Capital One forced Discover Debit Cards on us.
