@michaelcbyrd68 @JoJoFromJerz John McCain was a Republican. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. Mit Romney was a Republican. That current wannabe dictator has no business calling himself the head of an American political party, let alone the country. Stalin and Putin won “elections” too…

@JoJoFromJerz But you didn’t have one single problem with Joe Biden falling asleep while talking to ambassadors from other countries. You Democrats are hypocrites. It only bothers you if it’s a republican president. Joe Biden was also a pedophile with his own daughter and other little kids.

So you obviously do not understand what was happening in Congress on January 6, 2021. At issue was the certification of the slates of Presidential Electors sent by the States as a result of the November election. Several Republican Senators were beginning the process of challenging the legitimacy of certain Elector slates and sending them back their State legislatures for re-consideration. While that was happening Pelosi's goon squad started stoking a riot by indiscriminately shooting tear gas and rubber bullets into the crowd in front of the Capitol. Other Capitol police opened up the side doors and let people in to parade through the halls of the buildiing. Just as the first Senator stood up to issue a formal challenge, the peoples' representatives were panicked into evacuating the building and short-circuiting the certification process.

This New York Times piece is worth your time. Here’s what is happening, as simply as I can put it. Back in January, Trump sued the IRS, an agency he controls, demanding $10 billion over the leak of his tax returns a number of years ago. IRS lawyers did their jobs. They wrote a memo laying out the defenses that could beat the suit, including the fact that Trump filed too late. His own lawyer was in court when the leaker pleaded guilty in October 2023, more than two years before Trump sued. The Justice Department never showed up to court. Never argued back. Never used the defenses sitting on their desk. The judge got suspicious and ordered both sides to explain whether they were actually opposing each other or just colluding. The day before that brief was due, Trump dropped the suit. Same day, his Justice Department announced a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded “anti-weaponization fund.”  Trump gets a formal apology. The IRS agrees to drop any audits of him and his family, even though a 2024 Times report found a loss in an ongoing audit could cost him over $100 million. The acting Attorney General, Trump’s former criminal defense attorney, picks the five commissioners who decide who gets paid. Trump can fire any of them. Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are not ruled out. This is the most corrupt thing I’ve ever seen from an American president. Where in the hell are my Republican colleagues? nytimes.com/2026/05/19/adm…

@1jonalsur @MikeLevin “Nancy and the Washington establishment insert goons to provoke a riot to disrupt and end the challenge.” You see a lot of revisionist history out there, but this ranks right up there. I’m a Republican, btw.

So, a couple of hundred thousand Americans go to their Capitol to witness a historic Congressional challenge of a corrupt election process and Nancy and the Washington establishment insert goons to provoke a riot to disrupt and end the challenge. Then, the new Administration decides to hunt down all those who did nothing and make up laws to persecute them. And you resent the fact that the subjects of government abuse might be compensated. What a mean spirit.
