@htmlinacell @jramseymmo They gave up a consensus top prospect in baseball, as well as a guy who was a first round pick and their top pitching prospect. I’d say that’s pretty good prospect capital. Prospects just don’t pan out sometimes. Plus I doubt the Mets thought they all weren’t very good

@DKmets @jramseymmo They didn't give up much "prospect capital" because other teams have analytics and like the Mets internally, correctly assessed that the 3 guys they gave up weren't very good.
They hooked up with one of the dumber teams and snagged one of their best players. It was a great trade

I remember when the Mets were getting eviscerated for letting Kelenic go to Seattle in the Cano/Diaz trade back in 2018. Since making his MLB debut in 2021, he’s a career 0.2 WAR player with a .211/.282/.376 slash line across 407 games. He turns 27 in July; officially a bust?
