The quality of those we elect to Congress is frankly sickening. One need only look at the number of individuals who are elected to Congress with a relatively moderate net worth... and then check their net worth just a few years later. Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna, in one year, made over 4,000 stock trades...an average of 11 trades a day... and of course he'll claim, and provide evidence, that he granted proxy authority to someone... but the stink is still there. 4,000 stock trades per year. Then, of course, look at how weak the punishment is for violating the STOCK (Stop Trading On Congressional Knowledge) Act... until very recently a $200 fine. And how many members of Congress have actually been hauled up on charges for trading on insider Congressional information? Uh... that would be NONE. No member of Congress has ever been prosecuted or charged with insider trading under the STOCK Act, despite numerous violations of its disclosure requirements. While hundreds of lawmakers and staffers have failed to comply with the law’s mandate to report stock trades within 45 days, enforcement has been limited to minor fines, which are often waived. If I were to ask you to name where to immediately locate 535 crooks, perverts, philanderers, drunks, and partisan hacks... if you have any sense you'd instantly cite the 535 members of the U.S. Congress... the members of the House and Senate. Can an average citizen be blamed for believing most members of Congress are people about as contemptible and horrific as imaginable? I don't think so. For example, somehow it's "Jim Crow 2.0" to expect citizens to verify eligibility to vote. Congress COULD enact a mandatory law to make county health departments, and state Departments of Vital Statistics, issue birth certificates free of charge - but republicans haven't offered that. They've played into a "tax return" deduction for the cost of a birth certificate copy, which could still be considered a "poll tax"... and democrats would fight against this by essentially claiming minorities might be so stupid they don't know where they were born. As far as Voter ID requirement goes, there appears to be NO bottom line as to how incapable Democrats propose certain minorities are... and @LeaderJohnThune, a POS who has voiced more opinion regarding how the SAVE Act requirement can't be accomplished than how it can, doesn't seem care. The quality of those we elect to national office is so pathetically low it's no surprise those elected will never sign off on any term limitations.
