@PPistone @dan_bernstein @312SportsChi Pete, as a long, long time NASCAR fan, I think the waiver system is a great option, when appropriately applied by NASCAR. However, I don't think the sport encourages a driver setting down for illness. Set out a race or two & your championship hopes are done. Need better options.

@dan_bernstein @312SportsChi NASCAR has a plan in place called the waiver system - drivers can be granted leave for a reasonable purpose including health or medical issues, birth of a child etc. - in fact Kyle missed 11 races in ‘15 for an injury and still won the title - “race or be replaced” does not exist

The #Cubs must ride this out and hope to emerge the better for it. If NASCAR's "race or be replaced" ethos can compromise reasonable health decisions, it must change. And the #Knicks best chance is being more rested than a better opponent. DBU on @312SportsChi. Links below.

@Hlas "Absurd" is spot on. These clowns simply wasted taxpayer dollars with their grandstanding act. "Stupid is as stupid does." #TheStupidSeven

@CouchRacerShop OMG! These are adults who are supposed to be the best drivers in the world and some associated crew members. This is middle school stuff!

@PPistone Very small sample size. Hard to know if this is even close to representative of the overall fan demographic.

Give Dover back its points race. Put the All-Star at Charlotte. Simplify the format. Wait... do we even need a fan vote? This is @DaleJr's ideal All-Star format.

My seat neighbor for the HOF voting meeting knows approximately 10000000x more than I do. Think I’ll shut up and listen.

Being in the racing business pretty much all my life and now retired the biggest thing I’ve learned is I’m not very good at waiting. There is no sense of urgency in the normal world. Wait Wait Wait In racing you never put something off to tomorrow that can be done today.

@MattWeaverRA @KellyCrandall Frankly, it was the best All Star race since "One Hot Night!" Racing was compelling and the drivers were actually racing and not riding around. Hell, it would be great to make this the points race format for Dover next year. Yeah! Yeah! I know. If Gluck does a poll: good race!

THROWBACK! @Hardees, @BubbaWallace and the No. 23 @23XIRacing team are turning back the clocks to the 1980s with this retro paint scheme originally used by #NASCAR Hall of Famers Cale Yarborough and Dale Jarrett. Wallace will pilot the car at Nashville Superspeedway.

If Cup drivers “shouldn't be allowed” to run in a lower series, should SVG be allowed to run in the Cup series?

Oh man, that was good freaking stuff Danny Stockman deserves all the credit for going for it and Jesse Love executed it They even forced Connor Zilisch into some mistakes but Rodney Childers' 1 car just more at the end Really compelling dynamic race

@STaranto92 ABSOLUTELY! CZ and JLove are going to be the biggest stars in NASCAR very soon. These guys have the great fortune of hanging around Tommy Baldwin and learning how to do things the right way.

@SpotterBrett @oreillyauto Zilisch and Love are going to be the biggest stars in NASCAR in a very short time. Frienemies on the track. Wouldn't it be an even greater story if they were always in cars that put on a show like yesterday!

Everything about Saturdays @oreillyauto NASCAR series just seems so real and great. Just imagine if those were all the Cup drivers racing and acting this way on Sunday. It could easily be done.
