With support from Dan and others, something incredible happened just two years later, Brecon was able to stand and take steps on his own. Dan didn’t get his chance to walk again. But because of him, a little boy got his very first. “If more people acted like this,” Dan said, “the world would be a far kinder place.”

Deputy Coyle and additional officers were serving emergency guardianship paperwork when they were met with gunfire. Officers returned fire, killing the suspect. Deputy Coyle was transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. Four weeks later, he succumbed to his wounds. Deputy Coyle had served with the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office for two years as a School Resource Officer and previously served with the Chicago Police Department for 28 years. Survivors include his wife, sister, and three nieces. I Back The Blue!

Eight years ago in Syria, Master Sergeant Jonathan Dunbar of Delta Force was killed in an accidental breaching charge explosion, alongside 22 SAS operator Matt Tonroe. Operators from Delta Force A Squadron and 7 (Air) Troop, B Squadron, 22 SAS, had been assigned to execute a direct-action raid on a known ISIS target in the Manbij Province area. As the assault force reached the objective and dismounted their vehicles, they immediately pushed forward. Master Sergeant Dunbar, the team’s breacher, and Sergeant Matt Tonroe were at the front of the formation. While Dunbar was positioning a breaching charge on the entrance, he inadvertently triggered an enemy IED. This set off a secondary detonation of the charges he was carrying. The dual explosions killed both men instantly and wounded five other members of the assault force. Both are deeply missed by their families, friends, and brothers-in-arms. Not forgotten.
