quite literally the opposite happened, we signed the contract and Kentucky told us another team had already gotten it to them before us so we got fucked over. Either way team had no business being in the postseason.

I did not remember that. Great pull. Mercer, whose big issue was lack of Q1 games & SOS, cancelled a series at Kentucky who ultimately got in over the Bears. UK scheduled The Citadel as a replacement, which it swept. The Citadel went 3-2 over Mercer on the season including a run rule victory to eliminate them in the SoCon Tournament, en route to the auto-bid. State won 4 SEC series: South Carolina, LSU, Vandy, and Ole Miss. You can win one weekend series against a tournament team and it earns you a host? SOS means nothing, and if we have this schedule we are a top 8 seed. On top of that you get a cakewalk in the regional. Must be nice

I think the wildest regional hosting decision has to be giving Mississippi State a hosting spot

I wouldn't even really call it is a surprise, but the committee gives the nod to @HailStateBB for a host spot over Arkansas. I preferred Arkansas' overall body of work + H2H, but am just fine with the MSU choice.
I love that the committee rewarded @WVUBaseball for an A+ season.

Mizzou was more talented in 2026 and showed off some exciting youngsters. In today's era, keeping them will be vital for the Tigers to creep back into postseason contention

WarrenNolan currently is predicting state to win tomorrow and jump to 9th in RPI, obviously RPI prediction is harder to make because it factors in other teams winning and losing but that would be huge.. make a deep run and get 2 more weekends in Starkville

The Ole Miss Baseball program should never be anywhere but Oxford when it’s time for regional play. Great facilities, fanbase, NIL $, and more..
Any time this program isn’t hosting, it feels unacceptable.
