Exactly. Gavin Newsom’s $50 million “Trump Proof” fund is a disgraceful misuse of taxpayer dollars, especially when Californians are suffering from devastating wildfires. This fund, designed purely to obstruct federal policies under Trump, exemplifies the kind of political gamesmanship that prioritizes partisan warfare over real leadership. While Newsom grovels for federal assistance from the very man he’s used taxpayer money to oppose, fire victims are left waiting for the help they desperately need. That $50 million could provide immediate relief to families who have lost everything, rebuild destroyed communities, and support firefighters working tirelessly to protect lives and property. Instead, it’s being used to score cheap political points against Trump. Newsom’s hypocrisy is staggering. He has no problem demanding federal money when it suits him, yet spends state resources to undermine Trump’s efforts to improve the country. This is not leadership—it’s opportunism at its worst, and Californians deserve better. The “Trump Proof” fund should be rescinded immediately and redirected to those who need it most. Political posturing has no place in a crisis, and Newsom’s priorities should be questioned by every Californian. Trump has demonstrated time and again his willingness to help all Americans, regardless of politics. Newsom could learn a thing or two from that kind of leadership.
