In this real world population, our results suggest that caution should be exercised when interpreting 1L ECGs without confirmatory tests. Future studies are needed to see if training or unblinding to the automated read improves accuracy, and whether results extend to newer tech.

Fifteen cardiologists reviewed 188 1L ECGs (sampled from within the VITAL-AF Trial …hajournals-org.treadwell.idm.oclc.org/doi/10.1161/CI…). We found modest sensitivity, specificity, and confidence and a considerable amount of variability for detecting AF. @MGHHeartHealth
