An observation from watching more than three years of Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries, oil export terminals and pipeline nodes. They burn spectacularly and cinematically. But Russia — under sanctions and without access to Western spare parts and technologies — has more or less managed to mitigate the impact and repair most of the damage. Gulf states, with all their resources, can fix things infinitely faster.

BREAKING The Qatari government has declared the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military attaché, the security attaché, as well as all personnel working in those two offices, to be persona non grata and is expelling them from the country. The attachés and their respective staff have 24 hours to leave Qatar. The Qatari government says this is due to “repeated Iranian violations and the blatant aggression that has targeted the State of Qatar and infringed upon its sovereignty and security.”

@AlirezaNader While I won’t discount the chance ur right, that’s not what I see. & while I recognize that people who hate Trump more than they love Iran (not you, just in gen) keep yammering re “strategy,” I would note this is the plaint about every war. This is why DJT shd address the nation.

@dpletka Absent an overall strategy, no. As much as we like to see him dead, this war is not going well. The regime will most likely survive it and turn its wrath on the Iranian people. Like always, us Iranians will bear the ultimate price for others’ mistakes.

@AlirezaNader If the goal is to decapitate the regime, remove its instruments of power, and get rid of those who will not cede power, ridding this earth of Larijani is exactly the definition of going well.

@dpletka Just because Larijani was killed doesn’t mean the war is going “well.”

NBC has a shocking poll that reflects the shift in the Democratic Party. Today, only 13 percent of Democrats have a positive view of Israel. nbcnews.com/politics/2026-… In addition, only 17 percent favor Israel over the Palestinians.

Just so people understand what happened here: These women claimed asylum because they were likely to be tortured and killed for a gesture standing up to the regime. The regime then started kidnapping their families instead to force them to come home and face likely execution.

Under AUKUS, Australian sailors are embedded on US submarines to learn how to crew nuclear-powered subs. So when the USS Charlotte torpedoed an Iranian frigate, you'd expect our personnel to be at their stations. Instead, our government ordered them to their bunks. Our people were little more than submarine tourists. This government suffers from a kind of practical pacifism, where the only circumstances our armed forces might conceivably be permitted to fire a shot in anger is at an enemy actually bombing Darwin. At some point, the US president who's supposed to give Australia up to five Virginia class nuclear powered submarines is going to ask why he should divert firepower to a country that won't use it. Could a country that benches personnel already embarked on a US sub ever be trusted to be at America's side when it really counts?
