@GabrielleGear Medicine is an apprenticeship for a reason. When you’re starting you’re mostly still in the data gathering and reporting phase. You should have some idea of what the treatment plan may be, but medical decision making takes time to learn.

Completely bombed a patient presentation this morning. Because I was stuck with what to do. My attending after took me for a walk to debrief and discuss the issue and I appreciated that feedback and ability to reflect, learn, and grow tremendously

Best thing on rounds this week: I had the team ‘dress up’ Friday to shake things up. Team looked sharp, on point. Next day, we are back in scrubs, pt asked as we are leaving his room,’Hey, what happened to the fashion show??’🤣 From now on #fashionfridays. #idontwantnoscrubs

PEG tube tip: When there is no red light trans-illumination, you must abort. If I only relied on finger indentation, I would have skewered the sliding liver edge. Rare does IR fine a way if you cannot. Sometimes surgical G tubes are the only safe way.
