Kobbie Mainoo and Ederson midfield could be the reincarnation of Fred and Mctominay all over again. Ederson isn’t a pure DM or sitting DM that stays and shield the defence and neither is Kobbie Mainoo, both like to drive the ball forward and this leaves the midfield vacant and exposed. Also Ederson when compared to Casemiro suffers in duels and can’t compare in possession won. In a three man midfield, Ederson will shine but in a double pivot, Ederson will be exposed.
