🚨WATCH: CA Gas is Roughly $2.46/Gallon More Expensive on Average than Blue State Colorado.
Some estimates say California’s gas is $5.89/gallon while Colorado’s is $3.85. But that is neither here nor there.
How is this possible? Taxes and fees are the answer. While California imposes nearly $2/gallon, Colorado imposes roughly 30 cents/gallon. Mind you, Colorado’s excise tax has remained unchanged since 1991 at 22 cents/gallon. California’s currently sits at 61.2 cents/gallon and has increased every year.
The difference between their excise fees is almost triple, yet California still somehow manages to have an AA- credit rating while Colorado has an AA credit rating. So, the solution to budget problems might have little to do with taxing citizens into oblivion. California will do this with yet another excise tax increase in July.
Though Colorado imposes 0.6 cents on a gallon of gas for an environmental surcharge, at least they don’t have any ongoing consideration to do a per-mile tax. Gavin Newsom says he wouldn’t sign one, but that’s only to save face for his 2028 hopes.
@elonmusk is right. California is indeed one giant learing center.

Not sure if it's related, but State Farm rushed to pay out the remaining limits on our dwelling structure 2 days ago. Zero back and forth...just issued the check.
What I can say confidently is that the federal government has done infinitely more to help the people who lost their homes in Pacific Palisades than our State or City leadership.
Thanks @epaleezeldin

Stop the gaslighting! We all saw the videos of the threats, vandalism, ADW with cement rocks and attack on law enforcement. City leadership (YOU) has a responsibility to accurately describe events. When documented acts of violence are downplayed or omitted, it undermines public trust and accountability.#ComplyNowComplainLater #LAPD #lawandorder @LAPDHQ

How did the senate pass a bill 100-0 when 95 senators weren’t even in DC?!
Congress teleworking now?
Chris Murphy 🟧@ChrisMurphyCT
A bill passed the Senate last night 100-0 to fund TSA, the Coast Guard and FEMA. If Speaker Johnson called it for a vote it would pass easily. But he won’t do that. Because Trump has ordered him to keep TSA shut down and keep the chaos. Pure incompetence.

@TheKevinDalton Some homeless guy is going to close that fence during rush hour and everyone in LA so desensitized no one will call authorities. traffic will be messed up for hours before anyone notices whats going on

@CD5LosAngeles What if you live in the Valley and want to go to the local Mall? no train for you, take a 2 hr bus ride and walk a mile. Thats what the largest tax base in LA gets. NOTHING and you will like it.
English

I just voted yes to approve the new K-Line North Metro Line.
If you live in West Hollywood and work in Century City, there will be a train for you.
If you are a nurse in South Los Angeles commuting to Cedars-Sinai for work, or want to go to the Hollywood Bowl for a show, there will be a train for you.
If you want to go see the Kehinde Wiley sculpture coming to Destination Crenshaw and then go to the new David Geffin Galleries at LACMA, there will be a train for you.
And if you want to live near that train, there should also be housing that is actually affordable for you.
That is the kind of Los Angeles I believe in, and that is the Los Angeles we are building.

WATCH; DHS tells @FoxNews that an ICE agent saved the life of a 1-year-old boy who had gone unresponsive & wasn’t breathing while waiting in a TSA line at JFK airport yesterday. Video shows the boy’s father panicking as the boy goes limp in his arms, before the ICE agent runs over to help. DHS says the ICE agent assessed the boy, performed the Heimlich maneuver on him, and he began breathing again and made a full recovery.

Hello Senator.
This has already been pointed out but allow us to reemphasize that:
33% of Arizona’s gasoline — including the entire Phoenix refined products market — comes from California refineries via pipeline.
With CA Democrat energy policy forcing the closure of major facilities, this dependency will mean higher prices & tighter supply ahead.
Arizona has ZERO refineries of its own.
With your military background - you of all people recognize that recent events have shown how unwise it is to allow an economy to be at risk of foreign choke points half way across the world.
AZ is no different. We recommend AZ decouple itself from CA energy policy as soon as possible.
Thank you for sharing your views. We will certainly keep them in mind.
Senator Mark Kelly@SenMarkKelly
This is from a gas station in Phoenix yesterday: $6.49 for a gallon of gas. All because Trump started war with no plan and no idea how it would affect everyday Americans. I'm fighting to suspend the federal gas tax to bring families some relief, but what they really need is a president focused on lowering their costs.

@ChipotleTweets
Ordered multiple chicken burrito bowls at your San Fernando location on March 24 ~6:30pm.
Employee said fajita veggies discontinued. Food was cold: clumpy rice, meat as cold as cheese, cheese didn’t melt. No Veggie No Bussiness
Serious safety concerns.

@WallStreetApes Pause the state gas tax, it isnt gouging its mismanagement at the state government level

Consumer Watchdog says gas price gouging is happening across California, and blames Gavin Newsom for not regulating refineries
They also spoke with an expert on the industry at UC Berkeley who confirmed clear price gouging is happening in California and it’s being allowed
“Drivers reacting to San Francisco gas prices that are going for, yes, $6.57 a gallon for regular unleaded at this Chevron station, $5.96 on average in San Francisco. The Bay Area is paying close to $2 more than the national average for gasoline, which is absurd.”
“Jamie Cork, who heads the nonprofit consumer Watchdog. We also spoke with UC. Berkeley's Severin Bornstein an expert in the industry Right now, has prices are actually up more than you would expect
— price gouging is happening right now across the state of California. He believes we should be at around 87 cents above the national average in California, not $2”
“The numbers don't lie. Refiners are making a dollar more per gallon than they did in January — As for who is to blame, court believes the governor should be doing more to regulate refiners”
