Unpopular book opinion - characters in books aren’t always written to make you, as a reader, like them. Seeing poor reviews of a book mainly because the ‘character was unlikeable’ sometimes rubs me the wrong way

if you update slowly, readers leave. if you update fast, it’s ai. grammar mistakes? people lecture you. almost no mistakes or no mistakes at all? ai. long sentences? bad writing. short ones? also ai. you literally can’t win

This is what I feel about people making a crime out of fiction. You guys are not helping anyone. If anything, you are doing real harm by clogging the reports for real cases.
It's problematic to treat people's fictional tastes as if it has any bearing IRL.

The thing with Hoyo’s writing is that what the characters say and believe is not necessarily what is true, but the fandom takes everything they say at face value. If you understand that everyone is bit of an unreliable narrator sometimes, a lot more things make sense.
