Srce je fantastičen organ, minimalistično v svoji zgradbi, a v funkciji praktično popolno,« ob svetovnem dnevu srca, pravi Daša Zugwitz👩‍⚕️, specialistka kardiologije in vaskularne medicine s KO za kirurgijo srca in ožilja UKC Ljubljana: »Srce začne utripati v šestem tednu našega razvoja v maternici in potem neprestano bije vse do konca našega življenja, v povprečju kar 100.000-krat na dan.« Vsak utrip prečrpa približno 100 ml krvi in s tem poskrbi, da čisto vsaka celica v telesu prejme kisik in hranila. »Največ, kar lahko naredimo za svoje srce in svoje telo, je, da ne kadimo. Če kadite, prosim, nehajte,« opozarja kardiologinja in izpostavlja pomen redne telesne aktivnosti: »Že 30 minut gibanja petkrat na teden zadostuje, da srce ohranimo zdravo🏃‍♂️.«
