My little girl is suffering right now and the vet isn’t doing anything about it. And she was fine before we brought her in. 2 tooth extraction Almost 3 days won’t drink water. Only ate once on first day. We have been back and forth with them all day - they insist we just give her more pain meds. They are calling in the morning for a status update - I imagine they will want us to bro g her in if not g has changed. Very hard to watch.

@DebHolloway @D_Bone Yes, a quick look at the site & the ME/CFS tag count =48, a search =67 Many more for LC Yet the COVID-19 tag also includes Covid forecasts AND a cursory look shows the first article “A test for Long COVID can’t leave anyone behind” mentions ME/CFS & separating them being hard.

This is NOT good news re the hantavirus ⬇️⬇️⬇️ The virus can remain in human semen for up to SIX YEARS following infection, according to a high quality Swiss study. Like some other viruses including Ebola, it has the potential for sexual transmission even after a person has recovered. The discovery means male patients are likely to be advised to change their sexual practices, as is the case with Ebola. The research was conducted at the Spiez Laboratory, a Swiss government institute tasked with fighting nuclear, biological and chemical threats, and was published in the journal Viruses. They investigated a Swiss 55-year-old man who had become infected with the Andes strain of the hantavirus in South America six years earlier. They found that although there was no longer any trace of the virus in man’s blood, urine and respiratory tract, it was still detectable in his semen 71 months later. They say the male testes may act as a “reservoir” where the virus can essentially “hide” and evade the body’s immune system, said the paper. “Taken together, our results show that the Andes virus has the potential for sexual transmission,” the 2023 study said, although this has never been documented with hantavirus. With Ebola, on the other hand, sexual transmission long after infection has been documented. A 2021 Ebola outbreak in Guinea, which resulted in 23 cases and 12 deaths, was later linked to a survivor of the West Africa 2014-2016 epidemic, who had gone on to spread the virus through sex. Had maintenance come in today to measure counters for renovation. They wore N95s, because I handed them to them at the door. (Tho they didn’t wear them correctly) All of this while I’m nursing a sick cat who hates is about to go to emergency vet. And that’s in top of a migraine aura that basically blinded me. Thank goodness I keep one of these around still. Oh, and the sign - yeah, that’s real because Covid destroyed my brain.

Soooooo, an antiviral pill for prevention as @dbdugger has been trying to tell people and yet you all have him blocked for the way he says it. Maybe you all should unblock him and actually read what he says not how he says it. I did. I have learned so much. Push through your feelings so we can get to the meat and prevent this chronic infection. We all need to push past the feelings and get real before all the kids have this disease.

Always happy to answer any questions at all times. Our mission is the progress research in this space. If there’s ever any constructive criticism or questions please do share.
Jack | amatica health@JackHadfield14

Hi Salvatore, happy to answer questions. Our test is information-only and educational. It provides RNA expression data for research and informational purposes. It does not diagnose, predict treatment response, or classify patients into clinical groups, and is not marketed as doing so. This is consistent with a range of information-only tests already available to individuals, including whole genome tests, microbiome tests, and DNA methylation tests. We do not claim FDA clearance because it is not required for this use. On top of individual results, we run a consented research program aimed at identifying biological patterns that could, with formal validation, eventually support clinical use. That is a research goal, not a current product feature. On peer review, we are working towards our first publication and look forward to sharing when it's submitted. We collaborate with leading ME/CFS and Long COVID researchers and some of our data is being analysed for inclusion in an independent study. If you're interested in our methods, we currently have a reference cohort of 60 age and sex matched samples, growing to 80-85 by the end of this month. We collect whole-blood in PAXgene RNA tubes, carry out rRNA and globin depletion and RNA QC (including 280/260 and RIN) before library prep, then sequence samples to a read depth of ~60M, 150bp paired-end reads, Payment plans was the single most requested payment option from people ordering our test. It is offered as a convenience, not a requirement, and the test is also available via direct payment. On motivation, ours is primarily progressing research for this disease. Nick and I are both completely housebound and have been for five years. We lost all quality of life and cannot participate in the lives we once had. The majority of the founding team has been volunteering for roughly three years. We are building this because we believe this disease population deserves the same data-driven research infrastructure that has advanced care in other fields. That is what drives every part of our work. Happy to answer any further questions.
