Democrats in the Jim Crow South used racial gerrymandering to suppress the political power of Black voters.
Congress passed the Voting Rights Act to protect voting rights.
Democrats and the courts then weaponized the VRA to mandate race-based districts and majority-minority maps—it was racial gerrymandering by another name.
The Supreme Court recently said “enough”: race can’t predominate in legislative district map-drawing—because it’s unconstitutional.
Democrats are furious because they want to use racial gerrymandering, even though it’s unconstitutional.

Passed during the presidency of Lyndon B. @tcgoldrush I heard a lot of people , said it was good told the story very well! I grew up in Micheal and Janet’s era hearing a lot of the allegations, the stories ! My opinion his final mark was his movie this is it in 2009!

This movie was amazing. Stunning performance by Jaafar Jackson, OSCAR worthy. The details of all of his performances and videos, simply unbelievable recreations. I know his later years were excluded due to legal issues, but the early part of his life was powerful. Heartbreaking abuse from his father and then the Pepsi commercial which changed his life unfortunately. I highly recommend it.
