The defendant reportedly planned to flee to Israel following the attack. This comes amid an alarming rise in threats and violence across the country targeting Palestinian human rights advocates. I am thankful that the NYPD and FBI thwarted this plot, which could have endangered Nerdeen’s life and those of other New Yorkers. Let me be clear: We will not tolerate violent extremism in our city. No one should face violence for their political beliefs or their advocacy. I am relieved that Nerdeen is safe. Our city must meet hate with solidarity, and meet fear with an unshakable commitment to justice and to one another.

@DonJoseBodied @Farid_0v I don’t believe DQ is the mythological or literal Alexander. I personally believe he was a powerful Han Chinese general during the Han dynasty. But there is this book which elaborates on the view that DQ is the mythological Alexander called “Allah in Context” by @NuriSunnah

@D____4____C @Farid_0v It would be pretty problematic though. If the Qur'an addresses the mythological Alexander, then it logically follows that Yajuj and Majuj are myths aswell. Because this supposed "Mythological Alexander" builds a wall and directly interacts with Yajuj and Majuj (who are real).

Hatred and bigotry against Muslims is reaching levels of insanity in America. Our Masjid, @epicmasjid, offers free basic healthcare to anyone who walks in, and we fund it ourselves, while our doctors volunteer their time. Yet, even this act of basic humanity is turned around and used to weaponize anti-Muslim sentiment. By the way, the existence of this clinic is in fact a manifestation of the very 'Shariah' that these people are trying to ban!

@HgfRtnfer @IbrahimAlAssil Some Damascenes do love to drink. Obviously there are devout Muslims in Syria who avoid alcohol, but the non-Muslim minority groups consume alcohol and earn money from selling it. The problem is there is no one Syrian culture, it’s a mosaic of peoples and sects.

This Instagram account is calling for protests across Syria to demand a ban on alcohol. It’s based in Iran. The image it uses is manipulated: a sign from a pro liberties sit-in has been altered to appear as a call for more alcohol. Iranian-linked networks continue to use disinformation campaigns to destabilize Syria. If you think the ongoing war has distracted them, you’re mistaken.
