@MattEurich I legit haven’t bought a new car bc of it. Had one picked out and price agreed on. Did not feel like spending rest of day signing papers. After driving around in my old car for a few weeks after until I would have time to do it I decided this is just fine for now.

Both can and should be streamlined to the max—the reason why both aren't is because both industries are massive and stand to face the obsolescence of a lot of jobs—which sounds bad until you realize that jobs in auto sales or real estate serve little value to the consumer.
