What an odd way to think.
Arsenal’s title chase started four seasons ago, and they eventually won the league last season with players signed for reasonable fees.
Timber – £33m
Calafiori – £40m
Hincapié – £40m
Gabriel – £27m
Saliba – £28m
Etc…
Most of them are now worth significantly more than what Arsenal paid.
Meanwhile, clubs like Chelsea have assembled a squad filled with £100m players, or players signed for fees close to that, and still finished 10th last season.
Spending the most money doesn’t automatically build the best team.

Not saying he will be bad, but if you consistently buy £30 million talents because they match your valuation, you become a team of £30 million talents

🚨🎙️| Morgan Rogers on why he signed for Chelsea:
🗣️“Both Xabi Alonso and Mikel Arteta called me personally to explain their projects. I respected both conversations because they’re two brilliant coaches.
But when Xabi spoke, I felt freedom. He wanted me to express myself, take risks, attack defenders and enjoy my football. That is the environment every attacking player dreams of.
Arteta’s project was different. Everything felt too structured. Too many instructions, too many rehearsed patterns. I don’t want to spend 90 minutes thinking about where I’m supposed to stand for the next set-piece.
I want football to be natural. I want to dribble, create, make mistakes and try again. At Chelsea, I believe I’ll have that freedom.
No disrespect to Arsenal, but I chose the project where football comes first not the whiteboard.”

@UGOOOTWEETS Back in the days, the homeboy would first tell the ex, your girls been giving me the green light. Do I go ahead? If the ex says no, homeboy backs off. If the ex says sure, then the game is on and the girls the one whose been played..

A reminder on what Josh Kroenke said that Arsenal won’t spend £100m+ unless a player is truly transformational.
Declan Rice ticked every box - elite quality, leadership, Premier League proven, and the perfect fit for what Arteta wanted to build.
Morgan Rogers is a fine talent, but at £100m+, he doesn’t meet that same threshold. Arsenal’s recruitment has always been about value as much as quality.
There’s a difference between buying a very good player and investing in a game-changer. That’s the standard.

@afcmuktar Embarrassing from The Arsenal Board . I watched Josh Kroenke tell me we will go very big this Summer .
I'm waiting Josh

@Sneakerchief23 @afcmuktar Engagement seeker. Do you truly want us to pay over the odds for a player just bc Chelsea want him?
English

@afcmuktar FACTS. This is the Arsenal fan base that sicken me. This is a big blow not just that a player chooses Chelsea over us. But when you put it into context . We just won the prem and played in the finals of the CL. Why are we struggling to sign players. Something is wrong
