For AI agents to make payments, having a wallet is not enough. Different APIs, applications, and payment systems also need a common language. That is what x402 is trying to standardize. It makes payment part of the normal HTTP request-response flow. This means an agent can pay for an API directly during the interaction, without being redirected to a separate checkout process. The protocol was originally developed by Coinbase and is now moving forward under the Linux Foundation. The x402 Foundation already includes 40 organizations across payments, cloud, and blockchain, and @utexocom is now one of them. What matters here is that Utexo is not trying to create another separate payment standard for agents. It is joining an open standard that is already being developed, while bringing its USDT and Bitcoin-based settlement perspective into the process. This is not a completed integration announcement yet. It means Utexo is now part of the group helping shape how agents may pay across the internet. Utexo’s own wording sums it up well: bringing USDT to the agentic economy, and the agentic economy to Bitcoin.
