@SteelersNetwork It’s DKs responsibility to make up for Pickens production. Cooper or Davis need to produce more than the other junk we had last year which shouldn’t be hard to do.

I don’t think it hurts to kick the tires on a Amari Cooper or Gabe Davis for a year. Not going to replace Pickens and his production but they’re going to have to bridge it somewhere.

@SteelersUpdate1 Wilson is a slot receiver on a team already full of #3 receivers. They need a proven 2 which they currently do not have on the roster.

The #Steelers are counting on a "year two jump" from WR Roman Wilson, per Jeremy Fowler. Wilson reportedly looks like a different player this offseason after an injury-riddled rookie season in which he played only five snaps.

@Realrclark25 Ryan really doing mental backflips here. Pickens was late to practices, meetings and even games. He was heavily fined by the team and league. He was a huge distraction and a monster headache. Tomlin was done and got him moved. The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze. End of story.

I jumped the gun this morning on George Pickens. I immediately jumped to the low hanging fruit that the Steelers traded the ultra talented receiver because of his behavior, but that’s disrespectful on two fronts. It would actually be an indictment on George Pickens and Mike Tomlin, and that doesn’t sit right with me. Mike Tomlin doesn’t have to give up on George Pickens in order to make a business decision, & it’s also a decision that probably benefits Pickens. With the acquisitions of DK and the uncertainty at QB what was this year gonna look like for GP? Maybe, neither side really had a vision for it.

@ChaseDaniel You’re not moving up in the first round with 3rd and 4th round picks. They moved Pickens because he’s a hesdache. Just watch the stories come flying out now that Pickens is Jerry’s problem.

@Steelersdepot Timing is bad, selection of an edge rusher in the draft when good WRs were available now looks like an idiotic move and the Steelers are right back where they were this time last year except now with no QB and a high dollar WR.

Waking up to the Pickens trade blows my mind a bit - his antics must’ve been worse in the locker room…. And I must admit I was wrong about keeping him. But now the Steelers could have up to 5 third round picks next year…. It was clear before but 2026 is the QB draft

@Steelersdepot D. QB room is still a mess, WR room still doesn’t have a #2, Pat Meyer is still the oline coach and Tomlin is still drafting like it’s 1970. 2025 will look exactly like 2024 except possibly worse when we pay TJ $50 million a year to disappear at seasons end.

@KevinAdams26 Tomlin is notoriously lax with his players and Pickens was still a problem (late, lazy, general headache). I get why they moved him but not taking a WR in the draft when you knew you were trying to move him makes no sense.

From the moment I heard they were open to shopping him, I knew they were likely moving him. It was obvious. I loved GP. Insane talent. So much potential. Also a ticking time bomb and they weren’t paying 2 WR. But now who tf is WR2? Steelers are in the same boat as last year.

@KDPomp I’m sure the Steelers strength coach will have the sled ready for DK went camp arrives. I get the need to move Pickens but drafting an edge instead of a WR in rd 3 makes even less sense now.

@mjguff @Steelersdepot The Browns and Rams both have two first round picks in 2026. Our numerous 2nd and 3rd rounds picks don’t mean squat.

@Steelersdepot Well, we are undefeated in trading headcase WRs, so I give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe there are higher expectations for Wilson, too. Plus, we have drafted pretty good rounds 2 - 5 in the past three years, and now have an insane number of picks.

@MarkKaboly Of course Tomlin feels good about it. The Steelers drafted like it’s 1970. Lineman and a RB. He thinks he can run the ball 70% of the time and hope the defense keeps it close to win games. It will not change until Tomlin is gone.

The Steelers feel good about their WR room to make this deal. That might be a fatal flaw at least for 2025. Behind DK Metcalf they have Robert Woods, Calvin Austin, Roman Wilson as next 3 in line followed by Scotty Miller and Ben Skowronek.

@KyleBrandt My guess is Sanders. He will have to significantly outperform Gabriel with them spending a 3rd round on him. I firmly believe Cleveland only took Sanders to keep him from falling to the Steelers in the 6th round.

If the biker was making threats and looked to be going for a gun the driver is covered under Oregons castle doctrine which extends to vehicles.
