@TheRooster Because Bungie is crazy and they made the most hardcore shit ever for a AAA game. Still fucking rocks, it's genuinely my GOTY

Marathon has sold 1.2M copies so far. Although it has a dedicated fanbase, it wasn't a hit on the same level as ARC Raiders. Why do you think that is?

Best part of marathon for me is that I have spent the past few weeks gaming with friends all day every day just chatting and hanging out and having fun Honeymoon period will come to an end shortly since ive now basically done everything there is to do, but it has been sublime

@DominantCub72 @JakeSucky Literally. They confuse difficulty with bad design, Portal doesn't tell you the answer to the puzzles, but makes sure you understand how the pieces interact with each other before presenting it to you. Crimson Desert puzzles don't follow the same rules between puzzles.

@JakeSucky This is just bad design. They decided to put everything in this game bar a competent good game… Elden Ring had zero hand holding and that was fantastic, this is just a crock of dog shit

@Lingonius @JakeSucky Not buying that narrative. I mean, it's kinda true but this is not the case, the design planning for the puzzles breaks many principles. Again, this problem doesn't exists in other games, including new Zelda games, for a more close comparison.

@Dagxtor @JakeSucky The presentation isn't confusing. Most players are just TikTok Fortnite retards these days.

@Lingonius @JakeSucky That doesn't matter if the presentation is confusing. If most players have problems understanding what's going on with the puzzle, it's a design flaw. Other puzzle games don't have the same issues and I can guarantee you they're way more complex than this.

Not if you pay the barest amount of attention to all the tool tips that pop up when they're introducing the mechanics to you. For instance, you can see the "leaf" particles indicating it has to do with your spirit force. When that power is introduced it points out you can jump and use it to have downward force. The reason it looks confusing is because Shroud is an FPS brainlet player who sucks at experimenting.

@Lingonius @JakeSucky Notice how I said "how the puzzle works" and not "the solution to the puzzle". If you have elements to solve a puzzle but you don't know how those elements interact with each other, it's just bad. The discussion is not about difficulty, this game's puzzles are easy but confusing.

@Dagxtor @JakeSucky If there's one thing about puzzles.. it's that it's the puzzle's fault if it doesn't make itself super easy and obvious for you to solve it. Mhmm.. because puzzles have always been made to be instantly and easily solvable.

@Shini2020 @JakeSucky There's a difference between not having hand-holding and just being terrible design. Every game holds your hand in any way, that's why they're fun to play, the thing is some games are better at hiding it than others. Having confusing puzzles is not the flex you think it is.

@Dagxtor @JakeSucky in life you get fucked without any directions and mechanics hand-holding, this game literally tires to throw you in fantasy world with that mindset. if you are getting pissed thats your problem. deal with it.

@JayViperTV No seriously, why would an already balding man care so much about Steam metrics of a videogame? It's sad.

Marathon fans are left wondering "what happened?" as the Cryo Archive event that they expected to reignite the community has resulted in Marathon's worst weekend, ever. Its Saturday peak was lower than Friday (AGAIN) and it was also lower than the previous Monday and every single weekday before that. An important note is that the Cryo Archive is ONLY available on the weekend and it's still struggling to get players back online. Spiraling.

@marshallavfc @MacticsG1 Subroutines save as lore in the codex, you only need to extract with one and then you have it permanently. In order to kill the compiler you just need all the codex entries unlocked, you won't bring all your subroutines phisically to the bossfight.

But that means only 10% of the population are loading into it artificially inflating the difficulty. I know people who won't go in there to experience the content. Its a shame like Raids Bungie best content is experienced by very few of the people playing the game The RNG nature of if it also kills it you can essentially never get the all the sub routines or you can die when you get then.

its always “its not even hard its just artificially hard” genuinely what does that mean? enemies are tanky? deal a lot of damage? how else do you make shit hard in a game where you fight enemies? mechanics? then why does everyone hate verity and cryo archive? its ALL mechanics
Di Supa Of Di Dupas@Blacktwo__

@MacticsG1 @Hadokenchild Cause in Destiny things aren’t difficult they’re artificially difficult and that’s just annoying, nothing is changing per say it’s just a bunch of bullet sponges and damage checks now

The Crimson Desert defense force is in full effect. Y’all the game has like 260k concurrents. A guy complaining that the arrow fire tutorial could be better is not going to ruin the game.
