Happy to report one year later that I have just received notice my application was successful this time around, and I will be an Associate Professor from Jan 1 2025 🎉 Anyone who's been knocked back this time round, commiserations, and I am more than happy to share advice.

@DrJoannaT Your participants, if you have any, are doing you a huge favour. They can happily live their lives without being part of your research - you can't do your research without their help. So treat them with respect and dignity - remember they are people like you - not a 'sample'!!!

I'm putting together a talk on qualitative data collection next week, reflecting on how far I've come as a researcher. Curious to know - if there was one thing you wish you'd known when starting doing qualitative research, what would it have been?

I'm fairly sure that the paper published in the Journal of Dairy Science did not include the information: "Such treatment can hinder the social and pedagogical experiences of international students, potentially silencing their voices in discussions"
