I've always said that progressives should actually make progress, and that means making sure our district gets its share of resources to modernize our infrastructure, grow our economy, and makes life better for everyone in our district, from kids to seniors. For too long, St. Louisans watched federal funds go everywhere but here. Not anymore. I'm proud to have secured more than $12 million in community project funding to fix and improve sidewalks, bridges, senior centers, youth centers, and more. These are the things that make a neighborhood feel like home.

Today, Republicans in the Missouri House pushed legislation based on a lie from President Trump that has been repeatedly debunked: The claim of “abortions after birth.” Let’s be clear: In every state in our nation, including Missouri, it is already illegal to kill a child after birth. There is no legislation anywhere in America allowing that. None. So instead of addressing the real challenges Missouri families face, Republican politicians are choosing fear, misinformation, and attacks on doctors and women’s healthcare. I stood on the House floor today to speak the truth. The people of Missouri deserve facts, not political scare tactics.

This is the latest attempt by extreme right-wing forces to dilute the power of voters here in Missouri and across the country. Our voters deserve better than a legislative majority hellbent on taking away their power, and a court determined to let that majority get away with it.
