What happened last night in Skerries was absolutely shocking. This isn't the first time we've seen scenes like this. Where was the Garda presence? A busy coastal town shouldn't be left open to lawlessness. At a time when we need more visible policing, the Government has redeployed Gardaí for the EU Presidency. This could have ended far worse.

I use up to 10 taxis a week. I can't remember the last time I was driven by an Irish taxi driver. Over the last year and a half, I've noticed a sharp increase in drivers who don't know where they're going and can't speak English. How is someone who can't speak English or navigate properly being granted a taxi licence? I've spoken to taxi drivers who say they've written repeatedly to the taxi regulator asking how many licences are being issued and on what basis, because they say it's destroying their livelihoods. It's time for transparency, because something about this industry no longer adds up.

My sister discovered bats coming out of her attic and she contacted Donegal Bat Rescue and then rangers came and counted 360 bats in her attic and they think they have babies so they estimate 720 bats in her house but they’re a protected species so she isn’t allowed to move them
