This might be the most unhinged thing he’s ever tweeted, and that’s saying something. He’s flailing. Has no idea how to get out of this war cleanly.

Seems like there’s been lots of fireballs and meteors lately. Just wait until you have a direct hit affecting some populated place like Nashville for instance. Stay safe out there.

Huge boom heard in Loudoun Co and surroundings last night ~11p. There were storms in area. Boom probably positive lightning strike from elevated convection. Thunder can sound louder in elevated convection b/c temp inversion beneath storms helps trap channel sound waves, allowing them to travel farther. Positive strike often louder b/c has higher electrical charge & peak current than negative strike, heating air more intensely & creates stronger shock wave, resulting in louder, more explosive thunder. And yes, 401 ka, per mention below, is extremely strong, many times stronger than typical bolt
Alex Thomas@AlxTwt

@capitalweather found the source of the “explosions” everyone is talking about, a 401kA “wild house shaker” lightning bolt near point of rocks. Isn’t that like a historically powerful bolt? Both my PWSs picked it up (in different counties!)

@AACOPD The concern isn’t whether ALPR helps solve crime… it’s how much location tracking of ordinary drivers becomes normal before privacy protections become mostly symbolic.

What a HORRIBLE forecast by meteorologists – especially myself. Not only were we spectacularly wrong – we communicated poorly. It became apparent last night that some of our initial expectations would prove fallacious. I'd like to address what went wrong with our forecast:
