@Samfr What does the gender eligibility test consist of? (genuine question, I don't think I have any agenda here).

Not acceptable from the IOC to allow a fighter who failed a gender eligibility test to fight. It's a very good thing that boxing is being removed from the games for 2028 (as things stand).

@Samfr I’m ignorant about this - what are the implications of the ranking for the individual student?

It wasn't primarily based on academic performance before but mostly on a pretty flawed "situational judgement test". All medical bodies and a majority of students responding to the consultation wanted to make this shift. This isn't a good system but it wasn't great before.

@MJGold As a Brit, that 4x400 final in '91 is one of my favourite T&F memories (sorry!) 😁 Always loved seeing you run though.

2 reasons. One fair. One unfair. UNFAIR: 90’s relay politics were crazy. ‘91 I was left off the 4x4 despite being world ranked #1. They lost! FAIR: US 100m depth at that time was ridiculous! Who would I replace?

@SquidgeRugby One of my favourite Cardiff players ever. Up there with Mikey Rayer in my book (an honour reserved for very, very few).

And to lament what could have been only undermines the career he did have. Most successful Wales u20s captain ever, won silverware with Cardiff, several test MOTMs, captain of the first team to beat the Rassie/Jacques Boks and still pulling huge TOs on Friday just gone. Hero.

Oh man. I'll never stop believing his horrid run of injuries robbed us of a truly iconic Welsh captain and him of the career he deserved. One of the best players, leaders, and personalities Welsh rugby has produced in a generation. I'm gonna miss watching him a lot.

Keir Starmer writes in @Telegraph that Tories have "lost any right" to call themselves patriotic party as he attempts to outmanoeuvre them on national identity. “Shouting ‘woke’ doesn’t just undermine the proud British tradition of free speech, dissent and independent thinking,” he says. “At best, it suggests they don’t have faith in the strength of our history, identity and flag to withstand discussion. At worst, they don’t care if division weakens our nation if it strengthens their grip on power."
