I think you're missing that this is a largely better team because of how and what they replaced. They won 83 games with a 5-9 of a mix of Nimmo, Marte, Taylor, Vientos and Alvy and 2-5 of Canning, Senga, Megill, Manaea who were either injured, ineffective or both for large portions of the season...you can understand why folks will be far more invested with the current crop. Even if you believe some of the newer crop unproven the backups have been upgraded simply by moving some of the existing guys down a peg in the pecking order.
