With such extensive defensive lines it feels like the Russian Generals are almost inviting the Ukraine forces to punch through from Kharkiv into Russia and then swing behind their defensive lines. What else can the Ukrainian’s do?

The Russian pursued too many objectives in Ukraine, including Odesa, Kyiv, the big cities in the NE, Mariupol, occupying the south, and encircling the JFO. If they scale back some of these objectives and focus on Ukrainian forces in the JFO, I think they can still do real damage.

I think there are some clear limitations of what the Russian military can achieve in Ukraine at this point, including taking many cities, but the Russian military can still inflict plenty of damage on Ukraine and the Ukrainian military, particularly in the JFO area.
