@michaelpullan @LukeEdwardsTele 100%. We’ve been atrocious for 12 months now and he’s shown nothing to prove he’s willing or capable of changing a system that’s been found out. Anyways, if we get Europe next season, then what? He can’t manage 2 games a week, so we’re back here again in 2 years

@DanNUFC__ @LukeEdwardsTele You think he’s become a relegation risk? Come on man!! It’s been a long and testing season, but replacing him (badly) is the only realistic prospect of us being involved in a relegation scrap.

@jordancronin_ Makes absolutely no sense. The board are either incompetent or just don’t care, both equally as worrying. Absolutely no consequences for failure and god knows what message that sends to the players. Pathetic from everyone involved if he’s allowed to stay on

@LiamJKennedy23 Pathetic from a board as absent and seemingly as inept as Ashley and Charnley were. Howe has had his time at the club and the form of the last 12 months points towards a relegation battle next season if he’s allowed to stay and sign more runners

Eddie Howe retains 'full support' within NUFC right now. Relationships strong and he is key and central to summer planning and beyond, as things stand. Truth about planned PIF board meeting - with Howe & Saudi chiefs set to be in attendance. shieldsgazette.com/sport/football…

@MsiDouglas He stays and we’re in a relegation fight next season. The rot that he’s allowed to set in cannot be fixed just in one summer of player trading, and he’s shown no appetite to change our style (?) of play

🤔 He retains support but sources have said 'no free pass' for Eddie Howe - and it all points to end of season call. But with toxic uncertainty will damage to #nufc. Stay or go, they need to make a call now 👇 inews.co.uk/sport/football…

@danwinwoodoffic @cjhhhh21 I’d say a lot of our fans know this, but not the majority. The players obviously aren’t absolutely blameless and there’s a lot I’ll be happy to see the back of, but the manager simply isn’t getting close to enough out of them and doesn’t seem to have any idea how to do so

@DanNUFC__ @cjhhhh21 You can't afford to not push on tho. All teams above you will be improving from a better position than you and that includes your local rivals. For all the money in the world this group of players has set you back years by being consistently poor

Fair play to the mackems like, a team full of heart and determination playing for their badge, a stark contrast to the gutless cowards playing for us

@cjhhhh21 Mental how much this season has fucked us. It goes so far beyond just a down season. Like you say, so many (manager included) have to go that it’s an impossible job for one summer. Be a couple of seasons minimum before we’re back to where we were a few years back

@leerobson23 I’d argue it’s incredibly naive to think the boo’s, or atleast some of them, weren’t for Howe. Just because there’s a half-arsed attempt at a chant does not mean the majority of fans are supportive of him. They’re just reverting to type and going through the motions

@DanNUFC__ I’m happy to criticise Howe. Didn’t agree with the Tonali substitution, the players lacked leadership in the first half, wrong starting line up for me but thats on him. My overall feeling was that the boos weren’t for Howe but I’m not naive to believe everyone felt that way.

Interesting fan reaction inside the ground: - Eddie Howe has backing of the fans. - Players slated for laziness and lack of ability - A mild boo reaction at full time. - Tonali boo’d when subbed off (Thought he was one of our better players). - Reactions to players justified.

@cjhhhh21 He’s to blame for most of them being here. Manages us like plucky little underdogs, not a club that’s spent serious serious money. Howe in/out is fast becoming a litmus test of how much you understand football and truly care about NUFC

I see the usual Eddie Howe FC fans are absolutely hammering the players, win a trophy and it's all down to Howe, things go bad and it's all down to the players, absolutely brain dead

@leerobson23 You saying the reactions to the players were justified is absolutely an opinion. Were the boo’s, directed at Howe also, not justified? You seem petrified to criticise him

@DanNUFC__ You realise these were just my observations, not opinions. Not sure why you think I support Eddie Howe from this? Fans sang for Eddie Howe though and “reactions to players justified” was to Elanga, Murphy, Barnes and Tino who were awful.

@LukeEdwardsTele Luke I’m sure you are a fantastic journalist, but you’ve absolutely lost all credibility with the way you have spoken about Howe. He will take the blame, because his rigidity and refusal to change is a massive part of what’s gotten us into this mess. How can you not see that?

Newcastle’s season is over and all that is left is to search through the wreckage for survivors. The manager will take the blame but I hope he survives. He deserve to but there were several players out there today who should hang their heads in shame. Some are cowards, some aren’t good enough and others clearly don’t want to be there anymore #nufc

@billyredhead1 We scored first against Sunderland and still collapsed. Not due to the crowd, but due to the mental fragility of the team and reactiveness of the manager. Fans in the ground have paid their way, they have earned the right to let the players and manager this is not good enough

Not a bad morning but not really looking forward to the match mainly as I suspect any early mistake will be jumped on by those desperate for EH to go. Seen this loads of times and we need the crowd fully behind the side. 🤞 v a good side.

@NUFC Wonder how many times Bournemouths #10 will find themselves in 15 yards of space between our midfield and defence today. Seasons over anyways, just try not to embarrass yourselves again

@TaylorandPayne Genuinely, do you think it makes you a bad person to call him out or something? He’s overseen a truly pathetic 12 months, shown no appetite to change his ways and proven for a second season he cannot handle European and domestic football. Remember you support NUFC, not Eddie Howe

And then when he has a bad season, regardless of what he's achieved, we demand he gets the sack and hound him out of a job. That's sounds about right doesn't it? #NUFC
Joe Thomlinson@joethomlinson

If Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle, the club should move heaven and earth for Andoni Iraola. Front foot agressive style suits them perfectly, huge potential, gets the best out of every player he works with, constantly punching above his weight... and free.
