@ Codex team, can I or can I not ask Codex to build Codex app for linux, based of the mac dmg? I want to use the codex desktop app but I have been banned on one account and I don't want to break TOS.

@sama Thats why they wanted to remove cc from plus because everyone just using it as a frontend generator any serious work is left for codex

(and we will fix the former)

we still get looksmaxxed on frontend a little but we IQmog hard now

Unfortunately looking at the demos today, the next few weeks of Codex will be eventful and require many clicks of the update button

Would love to use Codex app, but it's still not officially supported on Linux. Unofficially you can run it, but I am afraid it will get me banned. A shame since it looks like OpenAI GPT 5.5 models are meant to be used in the Codex app. Can we ask codex to build the dmg for linux?

@LLMJunky I am not feeling it on Rust, C++ codebase, also it seems extremely hesitant to do anything in depth unless it's pre planned.

Folks, the codex team needs more great people! You can pick your battle, be it cli, Windows, or future products. OpenAI has lots of very high agency motivated folks and overall has been amazing so far. Apply! openai.com/careers/search…
