The MN House just voted (unanimously) to rename our state’s solar program in honor of Melissa Hortman, who created it. Here's a snippet of her remarks from when the program passed in 2013. It was one of her proudest accomplishments. It’s more than fitting it be named after her.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this.

Let me tell you a small story of how Minnesotans are doing. Yesterday, met with a friend at a corner coffee shop. Tables full. Walked to the bathroom and every table was in some conversation about organizing—to protect the election, to find rent for neighbors, to build more networks to observe ICE. We know what’s at stake and it’s broad and wide and deep. Minnesota is one of the free states and we will stay free.

ICE beat him so violently that he couldn’t remember his own daughter. Then they lied about it. Alberto Castañeda Mondragón’s skull was fractured in eight places. He had bleeding on his brain and spent nearly a month in the hospital. ICE claims he simply ran into a wall. Even the doctors and nurses didn’t believe ICE’s story. Alberto, a legal resident with a green card, was just shopping in St. Paul when ICE agents pulled him out of his car. Stories like Alberto’s are all too common with ICE. Beatings and shootings of detainees and even legal observers have been detailed time and time again. And ICE keeps lying, despite judges, courts, and even doctors revealing their lies. We must hold ICE accountable for its actions. Victims of their violence deserve justice

The ICE surge in Minnesota isn’t over — it just moved outside of the Metro.

We cannot believe a damn word from DHS. They tried to HIDE their killing of another American citizen. BREAKING: It's now being reported that Trump's federal agents at the ICE concentration camp in Dilley, Texas are raiding the dormitories of kids and their parents to confiscate and destroy letters from the children. This happened after Pro-Republica published multiple letters from the children, like the one below from Ariana V. What ever happened to Free Speech? This is like 1930s Germany!

Last year, surveillance giant Palantir (who got an 8-figure contract from ICE) paid $0 in federal income tax despite making $1.5 BILLION, partly due to new tax cuts in Trump's Big, Beautiful Bill. They cut Medicaid & SNAP to pay for this. This monstrosity must be reversed. itep.org/palantir-pays-…

This is genuinely one of the most disgusting statements I have ever seen issued by an American official. It should not stop shocking us that the Republican Party openly embraces this. Fine should be censured & stripped of committees. To ignore this is to accept and normalize it.
