Mark Carney calls alleged privacy breach in Alberta deeply concerning bit.ly/4tV3V34

Chief Justice Richard Wagner is refusing to recuse himself from the Emergencies Act case, despite previously calling the Freedom Convoy the “start of anarchy” and saying protesters “took citizens hostage.” He has clearly shown his bias. Now he says there’s “no reasonable apprehension of bias.” That’s a problem. You don’t publicly characterize one side in those terms, then turn around and sit in judgment over them. This isn’t about whether he believes he’s impartial, it’s whether a reasonable person would. Do you or I believe him to be unbiased with everything we currently know? From his comments I don't see him as unbiased on this matter. When the Chief Justice has already framed the conduct as “anarchy,” the answer isn’t complicated. It's a given. Even Mahmud Jamal stepped aside in another case to avoid becoming a distraction, not because he had to, but because public confidence matters. That’s the standard. This isn’t just about one case, it’s about whether the public believes the process is fair. Because once that’s gone, the ruling doesn’t matter. No one will believe his "findings." And we currently have a government that are happy to ignore 'bias' in their favour if it adds momentum to their current goals. #onpoli #cdnpoli

Alberta, this is our moment to rise, not retreat .The data breach investigation has nothing to do with Stayfree Alberta or the brave organizers and volunteers behind the separation petition. Zero. But you already knew that. What’s really happening is the same old mainstream media machine doing what it does best: painting every single Albertan who dares to dream of independence as the villain. They smear us, twist the story, and hope we’ll slink away in shame. Don’t you dare. This investigation doesn’t erase the fire in your gut. It doesn’t invalidate the years of frustration, the economic gut-punches from Ottawa, or the deep, honest conviction that Alberta’s future belongs in Alberta’s hands. Your feelings aren’t fragile — they’re forged in reality. They’re shared by hundreds of thousands of us who are done watching our province get treated like a resource colony instead of a sovereign partner. This is the test. Every great movement faces the smear campaign, the manufactured scandal, the coordinated hit pieces designed to make you question if it’s worth it. Holding the line right now is exactly what separates those who talk about freedom from those who actually secure it. We don’t fold. We don’t apologize for wanting self-determination. We don’t let Ottawa or the media define us. Alberta independence isn’t a fringe idea, it’s the logical, principled stand of people who refuse to accept decline when excellence is still possible. Stay strong. Stay united. Keep talking to your neighbours. The path forward hasn’t vanished, it’s just being guarded by those who fear what a free Alberta represents. We are Alberta. We are resilient. We are unstoppable when we stand together. The future isn’t given. It’s taken by those brave enough to hold the line. Let’s hold it! Let’s win it! #AlbertaStrong #FreeAlberta #HoldTheLine
