can someone explain to me why the pet tech market is inundated with such crap products? i'm looking for a XL automated feeder and a smart dog door that fits into a sliding glass door. the feeder? ONE option sold via walmart and 15 sketchy offshore replicas. the dog door? perplexity gave me one option that fit my reqs- and it's $900. insane.

I just watched a man in the row ahead of me buy airplane WiFi, download an excel spreadsheet and raw dog work on it without any AI assistance. Full on entering cells and manually editing formulas, picking conditional formatting from a drop down etc. Crazy.
