Yep, can confirm To this day the battery of my iPhone 14 Pro Max aged faster/worse than any of my other phones, despite being by far the biggest iPhone battery I used until then. It went down to 85% within just 13 months For comparison, the second worst one was the much smaller 13 Pro which went down to 92% in about 11 months.

I don’t know what is happening with Apple’s software… Personally for me, an “iPhone” was always a symbol of “this is how a phone software must look and work like”. I remember going to electronic stores and trying out different phones around 3-4 years ago. And after vomiting on disgustingly built Android skins at the time (I remember how cheap One UI was…), I was leaving iPhones for last, and was getting literally mind blown every. single. time. iOS 14, 15, were all so extremely polished. They felt perfect. The true definition of stability and smoothness. And THIS is what has set my standard for Apple’s software being associated with the “BEST” quality. The MOST attention to detail. The FURTHEST in design. But now, I’m holding my latest iPhone 17, which I couldn’t imagine owning just 2 years ago in any sense. Thinking, what my old self would feel; “this must be the best experience ever. Finally, I can use a class leading software on daily basis”. And then, I repeat that thought over and over again in my head. But… I just don’t get this feeling anymore. Now, I’m coming to stores, and trying out the same brands I’ve tried 4 years ago (which I vomited on after trying their UIs) and I can’t believe my eyes. They are the ones that give me the feeling iOS 15 gave me back in the day. Smoothness. Stability. Succulence. Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung, Vivo. All feel intentional and professional. You know why? Cause they copied the OLD iOS. And they are staying with that aesthetic. Coming up to iPhones and trying them out TODAY is like starting an immediate war with bugs. In every. single. gesture. But the thing is, I still feel like Apple is trying to be different. They are trying to provide the best and the most innovative software experience. Liquid Glass is the prime example of that. However, it’s not done with love. There are no shits given to the attention to detail Apple was once known for. Animations? Forget about them! Not a priority anymore. Design consistency? What even is that??!! Proper UX? Pfff. Babe, be for real. And it hurts. A lot. I don’t know what causes such a decline in software quality. I don’t know if iOS will ever again be as gorgeous as it was just 4 years ago. I don’t know how to solve this. But I do know that THIS is ruining the “Apple” I and many other people knew from before. I hope for the best. But now i’m also ready for the worst. Cause at this pace, we are only going to get deeper and deeper into the black hole full of shit. I want the old true PREMIUM feeling iPhone back. Thanks for listening.

@VadimYuryev I’ve been saying this for months, and I’m completely certain this is the direction they’re going to take! Apple products always need a differentiator, and this is the only thing they could do about it.

This makes the most sense if Apple is eventually putting Face ID and the selfie camera under the display. They can keep the Dynamic Island but it'll only show up when in use, in the liquid glass theme.
