There is too much happening for mid-December. Where are the cancelled meetings? Why are we not circling back next year?

Sure we have issues and plenty of them .. but there is real evidence that things are improving locally .. off the grey list, primary budget surplus, bond yields improving, lower inflation target and last night a S&P upgrade Peeps can hate all they want but reality is, well real !?

@geordinhl Really not a good look, this should have been preempted. If it’s mainly down to race infrastructure that wasn’t built to handle mildly strong winds, then that’s shocking.

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon was cancelled this morning due to high winds at the race start and along the route. I’m disappointed of course, and gutted for the runners who have prepared so well. But I’m grateful to the event organisers and authorities for taking a decision with runners’ safety in mind, after heavy winds blew down some race infrastructure. The City is committed to hosting events of the highest global standards, and that includes sometimes managing difficult calls like this one.

I started this business to help address the structural imbalance of power between highly paid listed company execs and the retail investors who want to understand and participate in the markets. Of course, the "easy" outcome is that respectful management teams then suffer, while bullies are allowed to behave however they want. That's a terrible outcome for the integrity of the @JSE_Group market and any global market. This is by no means the first time that I've experienced this, but it's certainly been the most concerning. Nonetheless, this business has grown to 40,000 daily opens of Ghost Mail and there's a reason for that. People want and need my help in understanding the market around them. For university students to C-suite execs, Ghost Mail has become a critical resource. So today, just like every other weekday, I got out of bed to write South Africa's favourite investment newsletter. And I'll keep doing it, regardless of how irritating it sometimes is.
