In this video, I’m showing 2 different tire drills I use as warm-ups & primers for hitters. No worrying about flight.
No worrying about direction.
No worrying about misses. Just:
⚾ Deliver the barrel QUICKLY
⚾ Get to contact clean
⚾ Let the barrel release naturally THROUGH Too many hitters try to FORCE extension or “get to Power V” instead of understanding what actually creates it. Power V is real.
I teach it.
I believe in it. But Power V is AFTER contact. The focus is learning how to deliver the barrel efficiently TO contact… then letting extension happen naturally through direction and adjustability. You don’t FORCE Power V. You earn it by delivering the barrel correctly. Train with an expert, not an influencer.

Otto Lopez - MLB Hits Leader - More movement doesn't = less hits - Gets behind + long through very well - Through his swing, stays down on the ball very well (easier to see from CF view)

@JoeDoyleMiLB @shegone03 @j_ullegue oh so what the f staying down on the ball and through it works? Butt end of the bat to the ball getting to power position and putting underspin on the ball? Oh shit who knew this would work?

There is currently just ONE hitter in college baseball with an overall whiff rate under 15% and a hard-hit rate north of 60%. That would be Tennessee FRESHMAN Trent Grindlinger. He's draft-eligible in 2027. Potential Top 10 pick.

@j_ullegue @MLBNetwork @Phillies I worked too many hours hitting a telephone pole in my backyard w/ a heavy wood bat getting to the power position to see the shit this "teacher guy" is teaching.

@DanielGager @MLBNetwork @Phillies Yes down to. Top hand delivers it.. front hand/arm torques it. It’s about seeing the ball and timing w knowing what the pitcher is trying to do to you at that moment.. easier said then done tho 😅

Kyle Schwarber is tied for the MLB lead with 16 home runs and is on pace for 63 this season. #MLBCentral dives in on the @Phillies slugger and how he has sculpted his approach at the plate to maximize his raw power.

@j_ullegue @MLBNetwork @Phillies F me I'm not either. Butt end of bat to ball is the fastest way all the guys do that the difference is how their body is Horizontal which makes them look like they swing up on the ball. If you take all these players swing and move it vertical it is the same.

@j_ullegue @MLBNetwork @Phillies I sent Jeff this same thing, an example I would give is the power these competitive lumberjack wood choppers do. Being on your back foot and the way teacher man teaches would break your wrists.

@j_ullegue @MLBNetwork @Phillies I am too. Tony Gwynn style, what the idiot you are arguing with isn't showing is where these players are making contact. Hitting through the ball as a lefty on your right nut which all these lefties do and not on the backside on the left nut which is what he teaches.

@BLocsports I saw the Youtube, but he is not a bad pitcher. I think the ump on Third missed the call on second. I think Trevor is more into content than being in the pros. He is throwing mid to upper 90s. I think he threw 98. I like his content but he needs to be with the A's.

@MLBNetwork @Phillies @shegone03 Him interesting. Nothing that Teacherman preaches. Him who taught this way of hitting... Tony Gwynn, as the analyst speak Freddie Freeman. His first move and thinking is to hit the ball up the middle and hit through the ball not on his back foot with his head out.

@BLocsports Matt, I was an old school taught catcher. You get learn to block balls in the dirt by having them thrown hard at you. Then you get in your stance, no knee down, and move left and right. A lot of this youth baseball shit, boggles my mind, especially with catchers.

The HLP Clan is in desperation mode!!! If you saw this you know that @Teacherman1986 acted like a child for the entire show and after about an hour and a half of his childish behavior everyone involved was ready to end it. But in true HLP fashion lil richie wants to claim that I waved the White Flag!
