If true, I love this for Mendoza. The Raiders are not in a win-now mode and have a number of holes throughout their roster. Don't rush him out there. Let him sit and learn as you build the team around him. Correct approach.

Wild and unfortunate move by @PFF. Don't know Trevor personally, but from just listening to him over the years (Pewter Report, PFF, NFLSE), he's truly one of the brightest football minds and draft analyst. A person that has tremendously influenced how I view and analyze prospects. Trevor is the type of guy that should be working in an NFL front office. Excited to see what's next for him.

It appears we share the same mindset here. With Yaya, if he has a breakout season, that number will explode and he'll likely have many suitors bidding for his services. Greenberg, the cap wiz, often structures these contracts in a way that they're escable after two years. As for Baker, I'd honestly let him play out the season before making a final decision. Offering him an extension would be north of $50-55M per year -- if you don't think he can play at a high level consistently and be a Super Bowl winning QB, it's a tough commitment cap wise, IMO. Looking forward to that future article of yours on this topic.

Baker is both smart and risky for a multitude of reasons (thinking of writing up an article after the draft) but it would be incredibly smart to get Yaya done now. His number can only go UP next year, and if you get a premier edge rusher opposite of him in the draft, I think he gets double digit sacks this year.

#Bucs GM Jason Licht is "confident" Tampa will be able to extend both QB Baker Mayfield and EDGE Yaya Diaby, per @RobMaaddi. Both players are entering the final year of their respective contracts.

The recent uptick in QB Ty Simpson's stock is great for the #Bucs, shall it intensify. Should Simpson land inside the top-14, potentially one more quality prospect will be available to Tampa at No. 15. Should Simpson to the Jets at No. 16 be a realistic landing spot, teams interested in his talents may try to jump ahead of New York, and Tampa can find a trade partner to move down. We shall see if the Simpson hype proves to be real as we inch closer to the Draft, but if so, this is good for the Buccaneers.

The #Bucs are signing veteran LB Christian Rozeboom, per @mzenitz & @CBSSports. Rozeboom, who enters with 2,444 career snaps, spent '25 with the Panthers. PFF ranked him 75th-out-of-88 LBs. Likely a depth signing as Tampa may further address ILB via the draft. If not addressed, Rozeboom represents competition for SirVocea Dennis.
