The average South Florida deal size reached $11 million. • Florida now ranks #7 in the nation by venture capital dollars and #5 by number of deals. South Florida ranks #9 among U.S. metro areas by capital raised and #5 by deal count. • To understand how far we have come: In 2015, South Florida startups raised just $489 million. In 2019, they raised $1.31 billion. In 2025, they raised $4.13 billion. • That means South Florida venture activity is now: More than 3x higher than pre-pandemic 2019 levels. More than 8x higher than it was a decade ago in 2015. • Florida statewide tells the same story: $1.0 billion in venture capital in 2015 $1.75 billion in 2019 $5.83 billion in 2025 • Florida is now attracting nearly 6x more venture capital than a decade ago and more than 3x what it attracted before the pandemic. • Fintech remains South Florida’s dominant sector, drawing $909 million in the Miami metro area and $1.22 billion statewide in 2025. • AI-focused companies in the Miami area attracted $1.22 billion in 2025, up sharply from $897 million in 2024. • Healthcare rebounded strongly, with South Florida healthtech companies raising $821 million across 56 deals in 2025, up 44% from 2024. • Blockchain and web3 companies in the Miami area raised $480 million in 2025, nearly double 2024 levels, with average deal size increasing to $12.6 million.
