Quant dev: I think it's fine to just pick a niche and go deeper into it, rather than being a generalist. Quant dev sounds like a good choice, considering I worked on the macroeconomic side of it in my last role, and I'll be doing a lot of ML / Stats research. All thanks to @thenewgenesis04

send out lesser applications!! find companies you really want to work for - find the founders email and/or dm them - pitch something useful you made for them and can provide for them - personalise it to exactly what they're building and require - make an undeniable offer. there's too much flood in generic applications imo, be picky about what you want and go all in on letting them know that you want to work with them. trust me, try it.
