Back in 2008, I campaigned for Simeon Andrews, a principled, committed socialist who sadly died last year, to become Streatham's Labour candidate. Instead, Chuka Umunna won on an anti-Blairite, anti-Trident ticket. Labour gave him a ladder to climb, then he kicked it away.
