@Daniel_KoG1 @ThoughtfulSaint I once again agree with you on all of that. It’s just not my place, your place or anyone’s place to post his sins online. His repentance process is between him, his bishop, and the Lord. That’s all I’m getting at.

He runs an ONLINE shop. He’s actively participating in homosexuality. He’s pushing gay “mormon” boy clothing. His bishop needs to address this and help him get into good standing. Open arms and love doesn’t mean let the wolfs in. Use righteous judgment and help this brother get on the right track. Someone’s lack of shame is very telling of their character remember that.

@Daniel_KoG1 @ThoughtfulSaint I totally agree. I’d hate for my mistakes to be sent out online for everyone to see. I’m sure you’d hate for it too. Especially if it was sent out by those who you’ve been told are supposed to welcome you with open arms and love.

@TyWertz_ @ThoughtfulSaint A mistake is an action, decision, judgment, or belief that is wrong, misguided, or unintended, often resulting from: • Lack of knowledge or information • Poor reasoning or flawed assumptions • Carelessness, haste, or oversight • Misunderstanding of facts or circumstances.

@Daniel_KoG1 @ThoughtfulSaint No that’s the definition of repentance. A mistake is “to make a wrong judgment” - Merriam-Webster I am constantly making mistakes that I don’t immediately correct or repent. I still don’t understand what right this gives people to find his flaws and share them with the world?🤷🏼‍♂️

1. The Church PR department isn’t infallible. 2. Nothing in this screenshotted post contradicts church doctrine. 3. I prefer to err on the side of supporting the church and its leaders. 4. These kind of posts by Jacob are unproductive. They provide no specific doctrinal issue and, if anything, undermine the church and feed the narrative that there is some sort of “administrative rot” undermining Christ’s church. That is a far more negative message than the one portrayed in the screenshot. 5. If you’re going to be an apologist for the church, I’d encourage defaulting to supporting it.
Thoughtful-Faith@ThoughtfulSaint

The church: “We need to find ways to reach men in the church” The church’s PR dept: “I have an idea!” 🤦‍♂️

Does the word "Christian" even mean anything? As Fr. Brennan Manning once said, “The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” Bad brand at this point.

@jaredadairbell A huge win I don’t see the problem. They had too stick “Christian “ next to other churches names because Christs name isn’t in their church. That’s actually embarrassing and a huge L for them. They needed a side note that they believed in Christ

There’s only one path and thats through Jesus Christ. We believe in making sacred covenants with our Savior for our Salvation. We believe in being held accountable for our sins if we dont repent and be true to our sacred covenants. Living honest and Virtuous lives is our “creed”. We profess our discipleship to the world and spread the gospel through missionary work. We believe healthy families builds healthy communities which builds prosperous nations. You destroy the family you destroy the country. Our neighbors welfare is as important to our own welfare. I hope this may help with whatever misconceptions you may have about us. I pray peace be with you and may the Lord bless you as he has blessed us.

LDS worships a Jesus that is different from the one presented in the Bible, and professes a path of salvation that is different from the one presented in the Bible. So, LDS is nothing more than a cult. The same argument applies to Roman Catholics as well; it is just that they have killed more people to affirm their status.

You misunderstand. God did not “give us” brains. Adam and Eve had brains because their parents had brains. You incorrectly believe that I’m suggesting we turn off our intellect. I am not. I’m saying we cannot obtain a sure witness by our own intellect and understanding. The quote on which you seem to build the entirety of your justification says “rational argument does not create belief” and yet you assert that it is “necessary” for true faith conversion (You are at odds with your own claims). You are trying to imply that if one does not possess a rational argument component to their faith, they cannot have a “true faith conversion”. I reject that. It isn’t true. It isn’t in the scriptures. It isn’t from Christ. He asks us to become as little children. Now it isn’t prohibited but it’s not required either. Not appealing to rational argument doesn’t constitute blind faith. Did our hearts not burn within us? Now if something is not required and by your own admission isn’t “sufficient”, why treat it as essential as you seem to? Elder Bednar taught that “Reason is important and useful; however, it is neither the best nor the only way of knowing. A witness of truth by the power of the Holy Ghost that we invite into our soul produces a spiritual knowledge, an illumination, and a conviction more sure, more powerful, and more enduring than can be received through seeing, hearing, touching, or rational argument alone.”

What he says is true but it’s not complete…. "Though argument does not create conviction, the lack of it destroys belief. What seems to be proved may not be embraced; but what no one shows the ability to defend is quickly abandoned. Rational argument does not create belief, but it maintains a climate in which belief may flourish."- Elder Neal Maxwell Rational argument is a necessary but not sufficient condition for true faith and conversion.

I have studied all the religions. I have read their scriptures until the print blurred and the words stopped sounding foreign. I have stood in the holy land, in the dust where the prophets walked, and waited for the ground to say something. I have studied science. I have prayed until I ran out of words, and then I kept praying after the words were gone. Here is what all of it taught me. The compass to the soul is love and beauty. Nothing else matters. You do not argue your way to God. You follow love. You follow beauty. You walk toward the thing that is so good it almost hurts, and you keep walking, and your soul will turn toward home on its own.

Jesus was very much in our timeline. He grew in wisdom and stature. On the cross he declared “IT IS FINISHED” - 100% our timeline. He didn’t say it’s always been finished. Hebrews tells us without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Hebrews 9:15-17 also tells us the new covenant has no effect until Christ dies. Well, that means it’s impossible for it people to receive that since Christ hadn’t died and there was no shedding of blood The atonement was activated on the cross, then went back in time to cover OT saints. That is why they were in Sheol. They need Christs blood to be forgiven of sins and appear clean to the father… since they didn’t have that, they were stuck in Sheol until the cross.

LDS- This shows God telling Adam that he must believe in Jesus Christ for remission of sins and he’ll receive the Holy Ghost? Really? You guys believe that? Gods teaching Adam about being born again? Really? So what was the point in Jesus dying on the cross if Adam and all the other people you think were reaping the rewards somehow of the New Covenant? Why did Jesus call it a new covenant if since Adam it’s been in play?? Book of Hebrews tells us without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins, and while the person who made the covenant(Christ) is still living, the covenant/will is of No effect! Making it impossible for Adam and whoever else you think were reaping rewards. Jesus says that He will baptize with fire through the Holy Spirit.. but somehow Adam’s already getting that too? Jesus says I must leave so the Holy Spirit can come.. but the Holy Spirit is already in full effect? Huh Please wake up from that religion that distorts and inverts everything. You guys are getting a false gospel, a false narrative.. everything is so twisted. “Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant, , so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. Where a will exists, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a 👉will is valid only when people die, since it is never in effect while the one who made it is living.👈” Hebrews 9:15-17 CSB One of the most evil things is that as an LDS person you believe you have the full gospel that Adam and all the other patriarchs have had because your books tell you about being born again, a dove descending on Christ, baptized with fire, all the NT wording and theology, etc, etc, that has supposedly been said since Adam…. So when you eventually get to the Bible, nothings new. It’s all old stuff you already know, it’s inverted, but you don’t know that.. so the BoM and Joseph will always be close to your heart and your first love. Because that’s where you heard all the details, through Joseph’s lens. His story. His narrative. Author Joseph smith.
