So, I think the story is well-known: from the very beginning, Dai was under the illusion that he'd get 50 million for the club. Almost like the Chansiri story. Even when we provided certified proof of funds in January 2024, proving our offer of 28.7 million, it still wasn't good enough for him. As you know, the club was probably sold to Couhig for somewhere between 34 and 36 million. Moreover, Dai had chosen Couhig because it was a bit more money but than right before the signature Dai let him run aground. Couhig used this as grounds to sue, putting Dai under immense pressure. Dai didn't see this as a threat first, which shows his gambling mentality, but he somewhat underestimated British law. In hindsight, you can see that Couhig overpaid, considering all the mess Dai left behind. That actually answers your question in context. And all the dirt we found on Dai is precisely what led to the EFL's disqualification of him. Based on the court rulings in China, house arrest, and much more.

@Daniel_T_Loitz @david_winks1987 @Doyle1Steve Honest question. if you were serious about purchasing Reading FC,what did Rob Couhig manage to do regarding dealing with the previous owner that you weren’t prepared or couldn’t do

Out of both major cups, might scrape through the pizza cup, 2 points above relegation, best players injured, captains bird calling out the fans, owner calling the fans keyboard warriors at every opportunity, a very beige manager appointment. Missed anything? #readingfc

I'd really like to keep quiet, but since Mr. Jordan has passed away, he deserves to be honored. Eddie Jordan desperately wanted London Irish before his death. My company wanted Hazelwood, the training ground (which, by the way, is currently falling into disrepair), and the club itself. The fact that Mr. Jordan was dying and was a true Irishman gave us the opportunity to be classy and decide to withdraw. Regarding finances, you only need to look at the Companies House to see what liquid assets we have at Hokulani and what I contributed to Hokulani in 2022/23 and 2023/24. That speaks louder than anything here on X.

@DanielLoitz Interesting you describe us a “titan” among clubs… we punched above our weight for a few years in the prem and generally have done ok until Madejski left- what is gutting is that we absolutely could have been in the position that Brighton and Brentford find themselves in…

From the lofty pinnacles of glory to the shadowed valleys of averageness once a titan among clubs, now chasing echoes of championship aspirations amid the humdrum. #readingfc

@Bio__Matt The perception outside the UK also plays a role here, and it's very good and speaks volumes about the standing. Precisely and the CAT1 Academy in Reading should also not be overlooked.

@PictonPedro @DellorInverse @ReadingFC Mate, trust me no need to for a „moment“. You just don’t grant me my opinion, which is fine. I will grant you yours. So forgive me for getting passionate about my new home Berkshire and their local club. I just want to see this club succeed.

@DanielLoitz @DellorInverse @ReadingFC You need to have a moment. This fan base knows what it takes. We’ve experienced everything you’ve described. We have been in the position that Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford etc are right now. So just stop talking waffle.

It doesn't have to be fast, but a plan needs to be evident. Look at Tony Bloom at Brighton and the last 15 years or more. That's how long it can and will take, that's right. They didn't even have a stadium. It just takes ambition and strategy. Bournemouth should also be mentioned in this list. With the academy that Reading Football Club has at its disposal, such a development would not be an illusion, because the other clubs didn't have that.

@DanielLoitz When you live in the M4 Corridor it’s okay to embrace mediocrity. We dont want to be like those London fancy clubs. Ambition gets you nowhere fast. @ReadingFC

I really appreciate your input, as I can learn from it. However, I'd also like to offer you a different perspective. Although I've been living in Great Britain for over 10 years, I have many contacts all over the world. Reading Football Club is perceived as a big club and a well-known name. That's perhaps both a blessing and a curse. That's all for now on that point. So, that appeal is definitely there. And regarding Birmingham, I agree with you; my point was more about the idea that they should be more ambitious, even in terms of budget. With more sense and reason, yes, but also giving the people in charge confidence and creating a sense of optimism and a fresh start.

Outside the little bubble of Reading we aren't really a historic club though. Mid 90s onwards we've had a good few decades but we're around our historic level now. Birmingham manager is in his first role, he used to be assistant here. Their approach has been overspend for quality to offset the coaches limitations - and they're not pulling up trees as expected in the Champ yet (same with Wrexham). We definitely don't want to be back in that territory again, as we saw before when owners get bored of their shiny toy.

I understand your skepticism. We've essentially been talking about theory here. As described above, this would be my first step in activating my network, for example. In Germany, there are even coaches who have moved from the Bundesliga to the 3rd division to a traditional club. Reading Football Club has exactly this kind of appeal, and as mentioned, you need a clear plan, a budget to support the coach, and much more. Birmingham City did nothing different, apart from the coach situation itself.

@DanielLoitz @PictonPedro You'd think, but a combination of our level ruling out plenty - and our owners aren't exactly a draw - just can't see any circumstances either would be feasible, maybe if we somehow went up a tier.

Counter-question: Isn't it the owner's responsibility, for example, to approach these people and convince them that something new is being built? Regardless of money. It's about networking and strategy. If I look at my personal phone book, I'd know, okay, I can at least meet with them and convince them.

Ah, the inevitable boot for Noel Hunt at Reading FC – sacked faster than you can say "points deduction legacy." The new owners swooped in back in May, finally ending Dai Yongge's reign of financial chaos, but clearly thought the transfer market was a Tesco clearance aisle rather than the shark tank it is. They wildly underestimated the steaming mess Dai left behind – debts, deductions, and a squad thinner than a vegan's steak. Did Noel get the shiny new tools and squad additions to turn things around? Not a bloody chance; he was basically coaching with one hand tied and a blindfold on. Yeah, he probably should've squeezed a few more points out of this lot, but let's keep it real: Reading's a club built for top-six contention, not languishing in the bottom half like some forgotten League One also-ran. Necessary? Abso-bloody-lutely – time to aim higher, Royals! #readingfc

@AndyRFCCharman Given all the court rulings against him in China, he can consider himself lucky if he's no longer under house arrest. His passport has also been confiscated. That's just the tip of the iceberg. With all due respect, he has far bigger problems to deal with.

Mate, I did catch the match, yeah? Absolute shambles for a solid hour again, right? Proper anti-football. And I'm watching this as someone who lives in Berkshire and has developed a great sympathy for Reading football; I don't want to know how real fans feel. Reckon the gaffer's got some explaining to do. Football-wise that is not enough. Hence why I said are we playing soccer or football here.
