Since the World Cup started, the prediction-market volume has more than doubled. Combined, @Polymarket and @Kalshi , daily volume went from ~$921M/day in the 30 days before kickoff to ~$1.96B/day during the tournament. An increase of ~112%. Yet the tournament is still live and we have semi finals and final to play. Kalshi benefited most with an increase of +130% total and leading the prediction market volume since the beginning of the year. Interesting to see that the non sports volume also had an increase from ~$272M/day to ~$675M/day. Maybe an halo effect since other sports events also happened during that time period but World Cup clearly had an impact. I'll be looking for the volume and bets happening during the final!
