O-Line Leverage Switch Drill The leverage switch drill is designed to help offensive linemen improve their response to a defender's bull rush. Here are six key points from the video: - The drill focuses on the offensive lineman resetting their leverage when they feel high or "off-kilter" during a block. - Instead of the coach signaling the switch, the linemen initiate it themselves when they feel they have lost leverage to maintain natural timing. - A critical technique in the drill is for the lineman to get both feet off the ground and "stab" their arches back into the turf. - Linemen should aim to clean the defender's hands off them as they reset their position. - This movement allows the blocker to drop their weight, reset their hands, and effectively eliminate the defender's charge. - The drill provides benefits for both the offensive lineman practicing the reset and the defender practicing the bull rush. @angusreid64 Use a TE. Run strong to the 3T. Stretch the DE to a 6T and block 6 for 6 in the box. Run weak to the 1T and run it Mid Zone style: base the 5T out, guard helps the Center reach the 1T before working to ILB. Don’t pierce the LOS early.
