My take is that the artwork is just photos of miniatures with AI used to add backgrounds and effects. This led to humanity’s extreme xenophobia and the realization that xenos races are not worth allying with. Additionally, Chaos corruption is far more rampant among other species turning any xenos into a ticking time bomb (as seen with the Laer, Yu’vath, Saruthi,Thyrrus, and even seen with Tau). (and do note dark eldar was the basis of eldar society their hedonism was their downfall and what caused the birth of Slaanesh, necrons do not care for life and the majority seek to annihilate all life in the galaxy, same for orks and tyranids) Without the God Emperor everything would fall to ruin by the Ruinous Powers, as Chaos who are the very embodiment of evil would corrupt everything, and by extension Humans are the only ones who can empower the God Emperor of Mankind through sacrifice and worship. Therefore humanity are the good guys for they are the only ones directly facing off against and fighting Chaos. This is why daemons and the Chaos Gods themselves call the Emperor Anathema and fear him.
