RIP Mary Rand, first British woman to win Olympic gold in track and field (the long jump, Tokyo, 1964). At the same Games, she won silver in the Pentathlon and bronze in the 4×100m relay. She kicked in the doors for generations of athletes who followed.

Cancer update. Poking over. Treatment starts! Now: PICC line insert. Then chemo and immuno drugs begin ("tough" say the docs). I'm wearing my Disraeli Gears hoodie, multi-hueded Dongeal tweed lid, and acid green shirt. Not Psychedia v Chemo... Psych *helping* the Drugs! 💚✊️💊

@dannykellywords Good luck with the treatment Danny. I won't lie, it's rough. I started Chemo a year ago. How did you find the PICC line insertion?
It may be tough, BUT a year later I'm here training for an UltraMarathon, Chemo formed me in some way I'm unable to explain. All the best!
